Services in time of Covid-19 crisis.
We have had to close the premises at Colliton Street until further notice. If you are looking to start private therapy or counselling, we are able to arrange sessions for you, but not on a face-to-face basis.
Free Short-term counselling for key workers in Somerset and Dorset. We are able to offer 6 sessions free of charge to all those who work in hospitals, health care, care homes, shops, in essential industries and as carers in people's homes. These sessions cannot be face to face and maybe by telephone, Skype or Zoom.
If you or someone you know could benefit from a one-off talk to someone who does not know you and who has a professional training, you could contact us.
We can arrange for someone to call you back and he/she will be able to listen and speak with you for 50 minutes. This service aims to help you share some of the impact on you of this pandemic and to help you regain some sense of control. It is not an advice service and cannot be an alternative to regular counselling or therapy.
Please fill in a contact form or ring 07714 330120 and I will get back to you.

The primary aim of Colliton Street Psychotherapy Services when it was set up in 1998 was to establish a centre of excellence for intensive psychotherapy and analysis in Dorchester for the population of Dorset. The approaches promoted at that time were Psychoanalytic and Jungian Analytic. These kind of therapies are especially helpful for those people who grapple with such issues as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, bereavement, and abusive childhood experiences.
More recently various therapists and counsellors have come to work from Colliton Street and have added to the expertise with shorter term interventions and differing theoretical persuasions. People can present with problems such as eating disorders, anger management, panic attacks, redundancy or retirement and these may remain the focus but often it proves more important to see the person as a whole.
We have extended the service to include a small practice in Yeovil, Somerset. Please visit www.yeovil-counselling-and-psychotherapy.co.uk to find out recent information.
We offer the opportunity for both children and adults to explore in a careful way difficulties and predicaments in the present which may stem from past hurts and conflicts.
Psychotherapy can help people find an inner strength and a foundation for sustained change.
If you are not sure if we can help do give us a ring or send an enquiry via our contact form.
